We have been approached to deliver a major refurbishment and extension to an existing house in Maidenhead, UK.

The proposal includes the addition of a side and rear extension to the existing property which re-configures the kitchen/ living spaces on ground level. A new master suite and library is situated on the first floor with much needed additional space added to a second bedroom.

A rich palette of materials will be used with brickwork and timber creating two distinctive elements, providing a contemporary feel to the design. The brickwork mass intends to sit harmoniously with the existing property, whilst a ‘lightweight’ timber box sits between the two masses, creating a focal point to the rear of the property which ties into the properties surroundings.

The extension aims to transform two existing single storey areas of the property, above the garage and a small rear dining area. Utilising these footprints unlock the existing ground floor and reconnects the property to the garden.

The celebration of materials, light and space are key drivers behind the design.
